IHRR and NAXA jointly organized a mapathon event from 19-21th November through an online platform in celebration of OSMGeoWeek. OSMGeoWeek is an international event celebrated every year by teachers, students, community groups and map enthusiasts around the world.
It included both theoretical and practical sessions on Open Mapping tools, Maps for Disaster Resilience and How to map using OpenStreetMap. Participants learned about the tools and tags required for Mapping. At the end of the session participants were able to contribute their task on HOT OSM Tasking Manager. More than 25 participates actively participated and contributed their task on Mapping Disaster Prone Areas in Lamki Chuha Municipality, Kailali District.
