This project is aimed to improve resilience of hill communities in Sindhupalchowk and Dolakha districts by strengthening risk-informed landslide management, particularly at the local level. The key objective is to work with local authorities and disaster management institutions, key actors involved in road construction and infrastructure projects, communities and all levels of government to increase their understanding of landslide hazards, the risks they pose, and the impact of human activities such as road construction on communities at risk of landslides. IHRR in associatian with PIN will conduct a thorough analysis of the main policy gaps, challenges, and opportunities in landslide management in the context of Nepal’s evolving federal framework. Furthermore, the analysis will aim to provide recommendations on areas where landslide management authorities can strengthen their capacity to effectively and systematically implement the DRR/M Act at the local and provincial levels.
